q: What kind of cameras and gear do you shoot with?
Mark: I shoot with Sony professional high resolution, mirrorless cameras (for you camera junkies I use the Sony a9 and the Sony a7rIII(V2), the highest quality Sony and Sigma professional lenses and specialty studio lighting. I prefer to shoot with high quality, fixed focal length, prime lenses, which provide me more control of my light, depth of field, and sharpness. Quality results for my clients is extremely important to me so I choose to shoot and work with the very best tools available to me.
q: If our wedding is canceled will we receive our retainer back?
Mark: No, retainers are non-refundable however, if the wedding date is moved to another day due to unforeseen weather or incident outside of the control I will always offer a credit towards another date good for 365 days from your original contracted wedding day. There is no guarantee I won’t be retained by another client for other dates in the future, however I will always work with all of my clients to capture their special day!
q: Should we need to add additional hours to our contract can this be done prior to or during the wedding?
Mark: Yes, the contract can be amended to add additional hours. Should additional hours be needed the day of the event my hourly rate will apply and a pre-payment for those hours will need to be finalized before further photography services continues. I will always meet with my clients in a one-on-one free consultation prior to the event and will provide my best advise on what to plan for and how to get the best estimation of hours for your special day.
q: Will there be a second photographer?
Mark: I am a solo photographer however I often utilize a second photographer for weddings of 100 or more attendees. A second photographer can be added to an any wedding at an additional hourly rate of $50/hr with a minimum of 6 hours. I highly suggest my second photographer with weddings exceeding 100 guests.
q: What kind of camera equipment does your second photographer shoot with?
Mark: My second photographer shoots with the same high quality, professional Sony cameras and lenses as I shoot with. All of his RAW negatives become a seamless blend with my RAW negatives once edited. Our candid style of capturing images works so well together and I trust him to work with me at any of my weddings.
q: Do you shoot video as well?
Mark: I do capture some video for creating promotional visuals for social media and will be expanding on this in the near future. As far as entire wedding videos I do not offer that service currently. My current primary business focus is in creating beautiful photo books that document my clients special day. Stay tuned as videography services may be added in the future! I’m currently seeking a videographer to partner with that has a similar vision for my overall brand and quality of work!
q: Do you have an example wedding photo book for me to look at?
Mark: Yes! I have several wedding photo books from actual weddings I’ve captured with different cover and book size options. I always bring them with me to my client consultations vs just showing you digital images online. The physical books allow me to show the overall build of the book including the incredible photo paper and the image print quality. I have many custom elements that can be worked into each book!
q: When will I receive the photos from my engagement session or wedding?
Mark: I edit several photo highlights from your engagement or wedding and deliver them to my clients within the first 24 hours following an event so you may share them with family and friends. The bulk of wedding photos may take around 1 month to deliver depending on the amount of photos captured and how much editing I am involved in. Once all of the finalized photos are completed and uploaded to the client catalog my clients are sent an email invite to the website where they can view the final photos. Clients have 30 days to view, download, and purchase physical prints.
q: When will I receive the wedding photo book?
Mark: Premium “Portrait” Photo books have a fairly fast turn-around (approximately 4-6 weeks to complete and deliver) while my Premium Wedding Photo books take a minimum of 2 months to produce after I have completed my photo edits, and another 1-2 months to print. Keep in mind, each book is unique and customized page by page. Expect a 4-5 month overall timeline from your wedding till delivery of any books. Delivery will depend on the time of the year, size of the book, and other factors, however I will always do my very best to get my books to my clients in a timely manner while maintaining the very best of quality!
q: Can I order physical prints of my wedding photos?
Mark: Yes, photo prints will be available for purchase with a variety of sizes within your own secure client catalog, accessible here on my website. I use a professional print company that specializes in high quality, color accurate, printing processes. This ensures that all of my clients receive the highest quality prints with the same colors, tones, and clarity in the final digital image edits. Prints will be available for purchase once all photo edits are completed. An email invite will be sent to you with a unique catalog password once the catalog of final edits are available. Client catalogs are accessible online for 90 days once sent to my clients.
q: Do you travel to other cities outside of Tucson? If so is there a travel charge?
Mark: Yes, I do travel to other cities within Arizona, to include Phoenix, however I charge for milage for events and photoshoots over 60 miles from my home office (central Tucson). I charge $3.00/mile, round trip which must be paid prior to any event/photoshoot and may also be charged if additional locations are added outside of the contracted agreement (additional reception locations, secondary photoshoot locations, etc. This will be articulated in the pre-agreement/contract I have with my clients or added to the previously agreed upon contracted total due.
q: What are the rates for capturing weddings outside the state of Arizona?
Mark: I offer discounted rates for travel which will include flights, hotel, and transportation should you book a wedding out of state or in another country. This will be worked into your overall booking contract. Rates may vary depending on the time of year, available flights, travel distance, and lodging.
